Ernest "Grampa" Green is the late father of Bill, the husband of Alice and the paternal grandfather of Tilly and Cricket Green. He died prior to the events of the series.
History[]
The story of how Alice met her future husband can be told in two ways:
Alice's tall tales[]
While she was raiding an Egyptian temple, Alice encountered Ernest for the first time. He freed her from her spiky situation, but was left by Alice in the collapsing temple.
They would meet again in Mexico in search of the legendary beast the El Chupacabra. While they initially clashed with each other, the beast snatched Alice's flashlight off her hands, causing it to break and revealing the beast. She told Ernest to stick together, and they fought the beast off together. Ernest compliments their skills, saying they make a good team.
They would cross paths again in a labratory inside a blimp which was rigged to explode. Alice saved Ernest, who went to the blimp to obtain a trinket, and they both chuted away from the blimp as it exploded.
What actually happened[]
However, these stories are only tall tales.
In reality, Alice's car broke down in the middle of a country road. Ernest drove up to her and offered a helping hand. While he was repairing the car, Alice took Ernest's car and drove away with it.
They would meet again on the rainiest day of the summer. Alice, who was soaking wet, was offered a psuedo-umbrella by Ernest, who was using a newspaper to keep himself dry.
Their last encounter before falling in love was in the garage itself, where he fixed up Alice's car. After he was done, Ernest decided to propose to Alice. As he didn't have enough money, he proposed to her with his mother's pearls. Alice accepts, under the condition that Ernest adopts Alice's last name, Green. The two were married some time later.
Eventually, he has a son named Bill, whom Alice gives birth to outside her favorite burger joint. But sadly, Ernest died around the time Bill was an infant, leaving the farm to suffer and Bill to take his place.
