"Freebie Frenzy" is the 33rd episode of Season 4 and 185th episode of Big City Greens overall.
Synopsis
The Greens cause trouble during Free Sample Day at the Farmer's Market.
Plot
The farmers market is having a free samples day, a day that Bill holds in high regard as it allows customers to get a taste of their produce to sell, a concept Gramma Alice finds bizarre. This gives Cricket the idea to go around the market and collect samples to fill him up, which Alice also decides to partake in. While cleaning up, Tilly comes across two rats she names Chad and Napoleon and decides to help them find food to help satiate them. A customer comes by and tastes some of the tomato samples, but when he doesn't buy anything, Bill becomes perturbed and decides to tail him to figure out why he chose not to buy anything.
As Bill follows the customer, he learns that he is doing the same thing at other tomato vendors, causing him to believe that he is free loader. He becomes embittered and stops giving samples. Cricket and Alice decide to collect as many samples as they can so that they can make a "samplich" and manage to procure a large amount of samples. They finally need the bread and meet with Braelyn who takes her time telling a story about baking bread, boring Cricket and Alice. Tilly tries to look for the right food to help fill Chad and Napoleon and tries giving them a rancid peach, but they rebuff it and run off to show what they really want.
Braelyn finally finishes her bread story and gives Cricket and Alice two bread slices, but Chad and Napoleon have eaten all their samples, causing Tilly to conclude that they were just two rats that ate anything. Bill finally confronts the customer who reveals that he goes by Sauce Boss and he was trying all the tomatoes because he only wanted the best one, believing that Bill does indeed have the best tomatoes and offers to buy his whole batch. The rest of the family returns with Cricket and Alice deciding to eat the bread slices on their own and realize that they taste pretty good. Bill offers samples again, but a customer takes everything including the stool they were on.
