"Gramma Driver" is the 23rd episode of Season 2 and the 81st episode overall of Big City Greens.
Synopsis[]
Gramma becomes a rideshare driver, only to find her best customers are thieves.
Plot[]
At a phone shop, Bill announces the Greens are getting smartphones, only because they're on sale, much to their joy. Bill buys a "Fun Fon" for them, and Cricket tosses his to the wall (however the phones are "indestructible" so they don't break) and later prank calls Gloria. Tilly is surprised by the phone's virtual assistant, Agatha (resolving to "free" the virtual assistant from her prison), and Bill gets a call from Jerry, saying Gramma's car she totaled is ready (Gramma is angered that Bill kept her car away from her, though Bill says she isn't really a good driver).
The store's employee recommends Gramma drive for Swyft, a ridesharing app. Entranced by the prospect of gaining reputation, which she can use to prove Bill wrong, she signs up and takes her first customers, who all give her one star because of her reckless driving. Cricket arrives at Big Coffee and Gloria, about to go on mandatory break, assigns him to make 91 steaming hot lattes, all to be delivered to a "123 Stinky Street", thanks to Cricket's prank call.
Somewhere else, the Big City Bank is robbed by couple Bash and Bella. Seeing their last ride take off, Bash calls a Swyft - Gramma's car. Initially driving slowly, the couple see the police is gaining on them, so Gramma floors it - which is what they wanted and they end up giving her 5 stars as a result.
Meanwhile, Tilly begins her quest to free Agatha by putting the phone through extreme circumstances (hammering it, sawing it, running a lawnmower through it, punching it, and dropping it off the roof), only to see it still works. Tilly isn't giving up. In his room, Bill is playing with his new phone as Gramma comes in and shows she got 5 stars. She requests Bill to tag along with her to see. Somewhere else, Tilly walks by construction site, where a construction worker, who isn't turning off the crane he was driving, leaves for his break. Tilly sees this as an opportunity.
Meanwhile, Cricket has actually made the 91 lattes, initially impressing an amused Gloria, but she orders him to deliver them. Cricket tells her 123 Stinky Street isn't a real address, and Gloria hints she actually knew it was all a prank.
The Biggest Bank is then robbed by Bash and Bella, and Gramma arrives along with Bill. As Bill realizes the people Gramma had been driving around were criminals, as he saw on the news on his new phone, exposing them, they throw Gramma out the car, though they aren't able to get Bill out. Gramma tells Officer Keys to pursue them, but her car had flattened the foot he uses on the gas so she offers to drive instead. A wild chase around Big City ensues, with the criminals initially outmaneuvering them, but Gramma, taking a shortcut through the Big City Ramp Museum, is able to catch up with them. Meanwhile, Tilly is about to flatten the phone with a girder.
At 123 Stinky Street, Cricket has actually delivered it there, but Gloria reveals she has known the entire thing was a prank the entire time, leaving Cricket with 91 spilled lattes. To add insult to injury, Alice's car splashes him with the lattes. The car spins out to the very construction site Tilly is at, and when she is about to flatten the phone, she accidentally flattens the car, totaling it again. The criminals make their escape, but Keys arrives in the nick of time to arrest them. Keys compliments Gramma's driving.
Another officer brings a drenched Cricket to Bill, and Tilly pulls out her phone, finally destroyed, "freeing" Agatha and Bill calmly says the phone cost him $200.
