- Cricket Green taking on the position of real-life Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan. In about the last 16 minutes of play in the 3rd period, he joined the ice.
- During power-plays, "real" penguins representing the Penguins' players on the ice.
Boston Bruins[]
- Alice Green taking on the position of real-life Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery. In about the last 15 minutes of play in the 3rd period, she joined the ice.

Trivia[]
- This event, similar to its prequel, was promoted by Random Rings short, "The Greens Call the NHL".
- The Boston Bruins are the first NHL team from the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference to be included in the NHL Big City Greens Classic series. Interestingly, the other 3 teams that has been included in the series (all from the Metropolitan Division): the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers from #1 and the Bruins' opponents, the Pittsburgh Penguins, all used to play in the Atlantic Division at some points between 1993 and 2013 (The Rangers were there during the whole period; the Capitals were there between 1993 and 1998, while the Penguins were there between 1998 and 2013). So far, no Western Conference teams have been included in the series.
- Besides Disney Channel, the match is broadcasted live on Disney XD, Disney+ and ESPN+ under the NHL on ESPN+ banner.
