• Global Fight Race is meant to be a parody of The Amazing Race, American Gladiators and Ben-Hur.
• Jyle resembles Anger from Inside Out.
  • Jyle's last name, Donelan, is a reference to production coordinator Kevin Donelan.
• The premise of the employee signing a contract, which the boss uses to "own" said employee, is similar to The Amazing World of Gumball episode "The Boss".
  • Comparing this episode and the Gumball episode:
    • In this case, the employee (Bill and Rocky Robinson, respectively) sign a contract that allows the boss (Jyle and Mr. Chanax, respectively) to "own" him forever (i.e. working for them until a point in time).
    • In addition, the employee can't just leave because they are bound to the contract.
    • By the end of both episodes, the contract is destroyed, and the employee is freed from their job.
