Synopsis
Remy is determined to be a martial arts warrior after freezing in the face of danger.[3]
Plot
Cricket, Remy, and Vasquez are visiting the zoo and looking at the reptiles, where Remy comments on the fact that he could not be as brave as a frilled lizard. Due to a series of wild events, a trio of hyenas break out of containment and scare the guests. Remy freezes in the face of danger as Vasquez takes the creatures and kicks them out, ironically into Big City. On the way home, Remy demands Vasquez that he train him in martial arts to protect him, but he refuses as he believes that he is incapable of processing the information necessary to protect himself. Defeated, Cricket suggests that they go behind Vasquez and decides to take him to see Gloria and Gramma Alice.
At the Gloria + Green Café, Gloria agrees to help train Remy in Taekwondo, mainly because Tilly is the only customer in the café at the moment, while Alice gladly takes on the challenge of training Remy in endurance tests. Gloria tries to teach Remy, Cricket, and Tilly on how to defend themselves, but the latter two do not realize that her barista metaphors are so they can mimic the movements clearly. When Tilly displays the purpose easily, Remy and Cricket make a mess, only for Vasquez to arrive after Remy's heart monitor went off. Remy promises not to train anymore, only for him to go back on his word as soon as he leaves. The kids continue to train under Gloria and Alice, showing significant improvement.
Remy invites Vasquez to the café under false pretenses so that he can show off what he learned. However, Tilly easily makes short work of Remy who sadly leaves. As he sulks in the streets, the hyenas return and chase Remy into an alley. The ghostly spirits of Gloria and Alice prove to be ineffective, until the frilled lizard appears and tells Remy that he needs to think about what he does. Inspired, Remy makes himself looks bigger with his coat and holds off the hyenas long enough for Vasquez to arrive and knock the animals out. Cricket and Vasquez are impressed with how Remy handled the situation, but when Vasquez asks if he wants to help return the hyenas to the zoo, Remy politely declines.
