The Smalton Thrift Barn is an antique store located in Smalton in Big City Greens that only appears in "Hard Bargain".

Appearance[]

Exterior[]

The exterior of the Smalton Thrift Barn is in the shape of an actual barn with a small porch. A car is parked round the side with some other things found round the back and on the front there is a sign that reads: "Smalton Thrift Barn" with a small square window above it. There are also a few signs out front.

Interior[]

The interior features many aisles with a lot of antiques located all over the shop. There are several sections including the 99 cents bin and a $1 box. Also located were the creepy dolls that were in the shop for decades because no one bothered to buy them. There is also an old Splish machine with vintage Splish that is actually just pure sugar. There is also a loom which Alice used to weave her rug.

History[]

The Smalton Thrift Barn is first mentioned by Nancy when she and Bill suggest they all go to get a new syrup dispenser in replacement of the one Cricket broke.

They arrive at the Smalton Thrift Barn with Bill pulling Cricket on a leash. When the family go in, Cricket runs off with Bill not noticing.

As Alice is complaining that there's nothing interesting, she comes across a loom and tells everyone to leave her alone.

Tilly and Nick are looking at old dolls and see things that look like them. They come across a creepy doll which Tilly says it has a vindictive energy which Nick doesn't believe.

Meanwhile, Cricket pretends to be a bull as Bill says that if Cricket doesn't stay with him, then it would be a bull in a china shop situation. Cricket almost breaks a frame, but Bill catches it just in time, but notices the price seeing that it's expensive.

At a section called the 99 Cents Bin, Nancy finds a syrup dispenser and she also finds a vintage biker buzz motor oil can which she says will sell for an easy $1000 and no one knows how valuable it is.

As Tilly and Nick are browsing through more stuff, Nick comes across the creepy doll again wondering how it got there. Tilly questions what dolls can be capable of when no one can see, which worries Nick. He hurries them off thinking about it.

As Cricket approaches the 99 Cents Bin, he starts to grow tired, but insists to continue. He stops in front of an old Splish machine and drinks a vintage Splish which is unfortunately just sugar. Cricket runs off with more energy. Bill asks Alice for help, but she stays at the loom.

As Nancy is paying for her items, she starts a conversation with the shopkeeper and notices the shopkeeper has some pretty bad hiccups. The shopkeeper explains that she's had them going on for six days at this point and says that she's tried all sorts of methods to get rid of them, such as: scaring herself, grabbing her tongue and holding her breath. The shopkeeper also explains that business for her store has been so slow saying she might lose the Thrift Barn after 50 years of business. Nancy starts feeling guilty, but then Dorothy says vinegar can cure the hiccups, but it also burns the throat. She gives it a try, but Nancy goes to think about what she should do.

As Tilly is looking at T-shirts, Nick is armed with a bat to smack any dolls he sees. He starts walking, but then sees the doll behind him on a record player. He prepares to fight it, but then the doll opens its eyes and Nick runs off.

Nancy has a conversation with herself at several antique mirrors and doesn't think she's a good person.

Cricket stops by some antique tchotchkes with a sign that reads: "FRAGILE! You break, you buy!!!" Bill notices this and tells Cricket to get away from them. Cricket doesn't listen, therefore putting Bill in a tight spot. He grabs Alice's newly knitted rug to lure Cricket away from the dolls. Cricket runs into a cage and bangs into a shelf, sending four antique dolls off their shelves.
